Fernando Dacosta

Ourense 1969.

He is an actor, director and dramaturgist.

In theatre he has been part of the company Sarabela since 1986 taking part in all its shows, of which the latest are: O lapis do carpinteiro, Sexismunda, A illa amarela, A Conxura dos necios, Así que pasen 5 anos, Caricias, O Heroe, A gata con botas, Macbeth, Cristovo e o libro das marabillas and Margar no paso do Tempo.
With the Galician Dramatic Centre he has taken part in the shows Don Hamlet, A lagarada, Historia do soldado, Leoncio e Lena, Se o vello Simbad volvese ás illas and O ano da cometa.
He has been directed not only by Ánxeles Cuña, director of Sarabela, but also by Helena Pimenta, Ricard Salvat, Fabio Mangolini, Pere Planella, Manolo Guede, Fina Calleja and Quico Cadaval.
He has also learnt from Albert Boadella, Sergi Belbel, Vicente Fuentes, Ángel facio, Ernesto Caballero, Martín Adjemián or Isabel Úbeda among others.
He has received 2 awards Compostela, 3 María Casares and 1 FETEN apart from being finalist on 3 ocassions in the María Casares.

On television he took part in Pratos combinados, Os outros feirantes, A familia Pita, Cela Vella, Rias baixas, Xabarín Club, Cuéntame, Compuesta y sin novio ou Hospital Central.
In cinema A metade da vida.

He has directed the Ourense University Classes since 1994.
With this Class he directed Ubú rei, Hamlet, O País das últimas cousas, Vodas de sangue, Fahrenheit 451, O despertar, Totem, Frankenstein, O barón rampante or Unicornio making his way through theatres in Spain and Portugal.
His shows have received a great number of awards from the Consellería de Xuventude and in University Festivals.
He also directed Tres Pontes tres tempos with Sarabela, Retén with Talía Teatro or Encerradas with Trécola Teatro (Awarded in Vangarda 2006).
He founded the MITEU (Mostra Internacional de Teatro Universitario de Ourense) which he has directed since 1996. He also founded the group Eis of the University of Santiago which he directed for 7 years.
He has also created the dramaturgies of the shows of the Ourense University Classes.

He is a graduate in Hispanic Philology at the Santiago University and he has a research report with the UNED on professioanl Theatre in Galicia in 1993.
